Belated April Fools

I meant to post this comic about fooling April on April Fools Day, but long covid is a bitch. So, belatedly, here I've immortalized how an innocent practical joke can make someone feel accepted and cared for. 😏

Latte

Mixing up the boss' coffee order is never a good idea. Doing so with the milk incident still fresh on everyone at the office's mind, and well...the results are pretty much inevitable.

At this rate, April's general ass-istant duties might start including this type of thing on a more regular basis.

As a startling coincidence, "Latte" happened to be one of the prompts for the Spanktober art challenge. Lucky I happened to see this just in time!

Crying Over Spilled Milk

With vaccinations starting to circulate, in person meetings are picking up again. That firm April works for had a little reopening conference, and had their general ass-istant play her usual service role. Turned out it's been a little too long since she last did this, though, and she's let herself get clumsy.

Her spilling that cup of milk gave everyone some interesting ideas about what to do with the rest of the carton, though. :)

Social Distancing Montage

Hey all! Sorry for the long silence. I hope you're all healthy and doing okay.

So, as you might imagine, recent events have been putting a pretty restrictive limiter on my opportunity for candid portraiture. Luckily, over the last couple of weeks some of my friends who are fortunate enough to have someone to be socially distanced with have been kind enough to send me some selfies, GoPro recordings, and the like for me to draw from.

Special thank you's to all contributors! You guys and gals are the best. Meryl, you may want to check the video you sent me from around 3:45 onward, if you haven't already.

Bio: April

Brat alert! Brat in need of immediate correction detected!

Okay, being fair now. April's apparently used to be much more of a spoiled whiner before she started dating Alex, and various others have been helping her improve as well. She has a sweet side as well, but it's sometimes hard to see through the rich party girl persona. Being made general ass-istant at the accounting firm she just started at promises to start a whole new chapter in April's life.

Bringing Home the Bacon

April's first serious, post-college-graduation job didn't turn out to be quite what she expected, and she still doesn't seem sure how to feel about it. At the very least, it's a good thing she has a boyfriend who knows how to help her de-stress after a long, hard day at the office.

The General Ass-istant

The management noticed a strange thing this month. Looking at the charts, office productivity spiked right at the end of November. Apparently, April's coworkers and floor manager alike were much more motivated and energetic workers after witnessing her extra humiliating punishment from the boss. Apparently, the overall increase was greater than that brought by their newest employee's actual work. So, like any good businessman, the employer reassigned her into the newly created position of general ass-istant.

April wasn't exactly thrilled at the news. But on the other hand, she's not being paid any less, and unlike her previous position this is a job where everyone can help keep her on task. Because being kept on task pretty much IS her job now, aside from the occasional memo or coffee delivered, phone call answered,or floor swept.

It's never been a happier work environment, at least for most.~

Management Decisions

It's been a while since I checked in on April at her new job. It turns out I was just in time to catch a new development!

Spoiled little whiner that she is, April complained to the boss about the office manager allegedly punishing her unfairly. A quick look at the picture is all it should take to fill you in on whose side he took.

She Can't Sit Still

So, April started her new job this month. She did really well on the interview, like I said, but just less than a week in and the office manager already found issue with her time management skills.

Our Own Private Waitress

So, the party on Saturday. Brianna and Genie asked if they could bring an extra, and were told they could, and apparently Brianna shot an invitation to that girl she babysat this summer. Said girl had apparently been anxious to hear from her again, and accepted.

Younger as she is though, Heather did strike the rest of us as rather immature. When the alcohol came out, and Brianna told her she would not be breaking the law by allowing a minor to partake, she threw a total fit. The cure to that - which Brianna absolutely, definitely, 100% wasn't expecting and working toward all along - was a bare bottomed hairbrushing in front of everyone. On Genie's suggestion, Brianna kept her pants, panties, and shoes after that, and - since she needed SOMETHING to do while everyone else was drinking - put her to work serving the rest of us. Mature and compassionate crowd that we are, I can assure you that no one took the opportunity to tease or humiliate Heather as she served us, and no one even thought of grabbing, pinching, or slapping her swollen red caboose as she walked by.

Sad to say, I was a bit late to the party myself, and missed the initial drama. When Brianna saw how put out I was over this though, she grabbed our little bare-bottomed waitress and pulled her right back over her lap for another hairbrushing just like the first, purely for my entertainment. She's such an amazing friend!

Road Safety Lesson

A friend of a friend needed a ride to a job interview in a nearby city. Brianna had it on good authority that Genie might enjoy making this one's acquaintance, so I invited her along for the ride as well. Things went well until I got tired, and April offered to drive. Not five minutes after she'd gotten behind the wheel, she heard her cell phone chime, and reached down to get it out of her purse.

Needless to say, we made her pull over at once.

I'm not going to play innocent and say Genie wouldn't have spanked April had it not been for that. She'd been a spoiled little princess for the whole ride, and Genie and I were both getting tired of it. But it would have been a bit lighter of a tone.

Well, hopefully she learned a lesson from this. If nothing else, her interview apparently went well.

Ginger Snapshot

I heard the sounds of distress while walking down the street this evening, and so I crept up to the duplex in question and peeked in through an open kitchen window to see if everything was alright.

It all looked A-OK to me! 😉

I'm pretty sure that's the boy that Brianna, Genie, and I ran into at the ski resort, Alex. Don't know his lady friend, but he seems to have been practicing some advanced techniques since the coffee incident. He did mention he was a chef by trade, and he put his skills with the spatula, spoon, cutting board, and delicately carved ginger root to consummate use, to my voyeuristic delight. Her reactions were just adorable, although they scared the neighborhood cats.

I do hope I'll be running into one or both of them again.
