You're Still My Stepdaughter

She was away at school all semester. So, before she returns in a few days for the spring term, Diane made sure she got at least one chance to give her stepdaughter a really, really good one.

The General Ass-istant

The management noticed a strange thing this month. Looking at the charts, office productivity spiked right at the end of November. Apparently, April's coworkers and floor manager alike were much more motivated and energetic workers after witnessing her extra humiliating punishment from the boss. Apparently, the overall increase was greater than that brought by their newest employee's actual work. So, like any good businessman, the employer reassigned her into the newly created position of general ass-istant.

April wasn't exactly thrilled at the news. But on the other hand, she's not being paid any less, and unlike her previous position this is a job where everyone can help keep her on task. Because being kept on task pretty much IS her job now, aside from the occasional memo or coffee delivered, phone call answered,or floor swept.

It's never been a happier work environment, at least for most.~

Better Luck Next Time

I got this one down a couple months ago, but I didn't get a chance to touch it up until now.

I happened to see that girl who Pietro helped to educate a while ago back in September again later in the fall. She seemed to have really, really liked what she saw back then, because she was strutting around that dockside bar just DARING guys to give her attitude. She eventually succeeded in baiting one, and went for her hairbrush just a little too eagerly. And, well, he took her out onto the back deck, where it turned out she still had a lot to learn about dominance!

Hopefully this setback doesn't discourage her from giving it another try sometime. Finishing this drawing reminds me that I do know where her sister lives, at least. Maybe I should stop by and ask how things have been since?

That's Doctor McCabbe to you! 

Ruling the local clinic with an iron palm, this is one doctor who you should never ask "will it hurt?" It will, and asking is just going to make it worse!

That said, Donna is very committed to her career, and doesn't have a lot of free time outside of work, which is why she makes sure to squeeze as much enjoyment as possible out of it. She's made things less stressful for herself in recent years by making some aesthetic and cultural changes to her work environment as well. Changes that nurses Pietro and Kacey often rue, but they haven't shown any intention to quit yet!

Double Dose

I drove Perry in for an exam earlier this week. We won't get into his medical situation, but it's nothing too serious, don't worry. 😄 It seemed like pretty smooth sailing, but then he somehow managed to knock over a sample jar and broke it while the nurse was doing his job. We both helped clean it up, but poor nurse Pietro told him that he wasn't going to get away with his carelessness unpunished, and that it would probably be in his best interest to let him take care of it instead of letting the doctor take it upon herself.

I've never seen that boy on the giving end before, so this was an interesting turn of events, albeit a tragically ironic one. Because, well...despite Pietro's best efforts, it didn't make a difference.

Oh well.~
